F1 standings after Saudi Arabian GP: Verstappen fights back against Leclerc

Article To news overview Max Verstappen bounced back from his retirement at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix with a hard-fought win in Saudi Arabia. Verstappen narrowly beat Charles Leclerc to the chequered flag on the streets of Jeddah after another thrilling scrap between the Red Bull and Ferrari drivers. In doing so, the reigning World Champion climbs all the way from the bottom of the standings to third, with only Leclerc and Carlos Sainz - who rounded out the podium on Sunday night - ahead of him. Leclerc now holds a 12-point lead over teammate Sainz in the Drivers' Championship, with Verstappen eight points further back. Mercedes pair George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are next...
