Russell: All in all it was a huge relief
Williams rookie George Russell has praised his crew after completing a promising 119-lap day in the troublesome FW42 at Formula 1 preseason testing at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. Russell was ninth fastest on day five of testing with a lap time of 1:19.662 on the band-less C5 tyre compound, the fastest tyre available in the Pirelli range. Despite missing the first two days of testing last week – due to a delayed finish on the car – Williams have quickly adapted to their new machinery on track as they prepare for the season-opening Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 on March 14-17. “It was a good day,” said Russell, who will make his F1 debut in Melbourne. “Our...
