Valtteri Bottas to receive 2018 Bandini Trophy

Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Bandini Trophy. The trophy is awarded for a commendable performance in motorsport, and named in honour of Lorenzo Bandini, the Ferrari driver who was killed in a crash at the 1967 Monaco Grand Prix. Bottas is set to pilot Mercedes’ 2016 title-winning W07 on the route from Faenza to Brisighella in order to collect the award. Bottas enjoyed his most successful season in Formula 1 last year, having switched from Williams to Mercedes, taking four pole positions, three wins and third place in the championship.
