Hartley set to start debut F1 race from back of grid
Toro Rosso Formula 1 rookie Brendon Hartley is set to make his first grand prix start in Austin from the back of the grid after taking power unit penalties. Team principal Franz Tost confirmed to Motorsport.com that the New Zealander will take a complete new power unit this weekend. The decision was made before it was confirmed that F1 newcomer Hartley would drive the car that was piloted by the absent Pierre Gasly in the last two races. Tost added that the sister entry (currently driven by Daniil Kvyat) will take new power unit elements in Mexico next weekend, with both cars simply running out of engine mileage with which to finish the season.
