McLaren formally confirms Honda split
– McLaren has announced that it will split with Honda at the conclusion of the 2017 campaign, bringing down the curtain on a three-year partnership plagued by a lack of reliability and performance.McLaren, following two decades with Mercedes, reunited with Honda for the 2015 season, as the parties sought to rekindle the collaboration that captured multiple titles in the late 1980s/early 1990s.However, Honda struggled to produce a reliable and competitive engine, leaving the operation ninth in the standings, before gains in 2016 allowed the partnership to place sixth overall.Ahead of the 2017 season, Honda introduced an overhauled power unit, which was believed to have greater...
