Russell encouraged by margin to Bottas

– Mercedes junior George Russell was left feeling encouraged by his relatively small deficit to Valtteri Bottas on the first day of the Hungaroring in-season test.Mercedes gave GP3 title leader Russell his first outing in the W08 at the Hungaroring on Tuesday, alongside regular driver Bottas, who completed development work for Pirelli.Russell posted the fourth fastest time, with a focus on longer runs, to finish 0.499s down on Bottas, who ran a similar set-up and fuel load throughout the day."I was quite happy with my performance," said Russell, who racked up 119 laps."I was on a similar set-up to Valtteri, with exactly the same fuel loads and I ended the day about...
