Grosjean wanted to be part of new Renault project

Romain Grosjean has revealed that he would have stayed at Lotus for the 2016 Formula 1 season had Renault not taken so long to approve a takeover of the ailing outfit. Renault announced on Monday that it had signed a letter of intent ahead of purchasing Lotus, saving the team from administration. However, it came too late to keep Grosjean at Enstone, for on Tuesday the Frenchman was unveiled as the first driver at Haas F1 Team ahead of its debut season in 2016.
