Nico Rosberg: “I had to avoid a collision” at start
Japanese Grand Prix – Pole sitter Nico Rosberg has indicated that he had to take avoiding action at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix, in order to avoid a collision with Championship leader Lewis Hamilton. Both Mercedes drivers took the opening 2 turns side by side following a start which allowed Hamilton to pull alongside Rosberg, and subsequently take the lead as the German ran slightly off track on the outside of Turn 2. 'I've not seen it on TV, but it was close,' recalled Rosberg. 'I had to avoid a collision, but it's difficult to comment.
