Alexander Wurz discusses safety and shows huge testing crash
Former F1 driver Alexander Wurz has spoken out about enduring an incredibly high speed Formula 1 impact, and says that it adds to his motivation for improving safety. Former Benetton, McLaren and Williams racer Alexander Wurz was involved in a huge crash during in season testing in 2005. Testing for McLaren at the time, Wurz was left a passenger when the right rear Michelin tyre on his MP4/20 exploded. Heading into a fast chicane at the Paul Ricard circuit, he endured an extremely heavy impact with the Armco barrier before spinning into another barrier at the end of the run off area.
