2013 GP2 champion Leimer signs as Manor reserve driver
Manor Marussia has confirmed that 2013 GP2 champion Fabio Leimer will join the team as its official reserve driver. Leimer, who beat Sam Bird to the 2013 GP2 series title, and raced at last year’s Le Mans 24 Hours with Rebellion, will play a support role to race drivers Will Stevens and Roberto Merhi. The Swiss racer will drive the team’s MR03B car during opening practice at selected rounds during the season. “I’m thrilled to be provided with this opportunity and I’d like to thank the Manor Marussia F1 Team for the faith they have shown in my ability,” Leimer said. “In particular I’m very excited to have the chance to drive the car in selected FP1s, but I am also looking...
