Alonso optimistic over quest for points
McLaren Honda Fernando Alonso reckons McLaren can fight for points at the Spanish Grand Prix, though emphasised that overall progress remains the goal for the squad. Alonso qualified in 13th position for his home race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya but is confident that he can finished inside the top 10. "I am confident we can take points tomorrow," he said. "It doesn’t change too much, to finish ninth, 10th, 11th, one point, two points, it is not what we want. "We want much bigger than that but it is true for the team motivation, to achieve results we can touch, because they are only hopes and words, but if we can start scoring points physically in the race...
