'Lewis hasn't asked to be No 1'
Toto Wolff has denied that Lewis Hamilton has asked for number one status at Mercedes during talks over extending his contract and described the remaining delays as 'ping-pong' between the lawyers. Despite the long-held expectation that the two parties will agree to a new multi-year term, Hamilton and Mercedes have yet to formally sign a new deal to succeed the one which runs out at the end of the current season. At last month's Malaysia GP Hamilton described the agreement as being '99.6 per cent done', however no announcement has yet been forthcoming with the world champion, who has negotiated the contract himself, telling Sky Sports that the process had become a 'pain in the backside' as...
