Merhi facing balancing act in FP1 at Monza
Roberto Merhi says it will be a “hard situation” for him on Friday when he makes his Formula 1 debut in opening practice for the Italian Grand Prix. The 23-year-old will run in FP1 only, before Kamui Kobayashi takes over the Caterham CT05 for the rest of the weekend. However, with many expecting the Spaniard to get a race chance - possibly as soon as the next grand prix in Singapore, he will need to demonstrate he is ready for such an opportunity. “Tomorrow is a hard situation because you need to prove that you are ready to race and you [also] need to try and build up your confidence in the car,” he told reporters, including Crash.net, on Thursday at Monza. “But you only have one...
