Ferrari facing first winless season in 21 years

The last time Ferrari went through an entire season without winning a single race was in 1993 and although seven races remain in the current championship, there's little hope that it could feature on the top step of the podium this year. Williams, McLaren and Benetton won the 16 races during the 1993 season with Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher taking the honours. This season only Mercedes and Red Bull have won a race – as has been since May last year when Fernando Alonso emerged victorious in Spain – with only feuding teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, and Daniel Ricciardo earning maximum points in a Grand Prix.
