Magnussen stays positive with small steps forward

Kevin Magnussen, who stepped up to Formula One at the beginning of the year with McLaren, is keeping a positive attitude ahead of Sunday’s race coming off the back of finishing seventh two weeks ago at the Red Bull Ring. The 21-year-old spoke on Thursday about the MP4-29 having a good base on which to work with, but there is not a lot of changes being made to the car this weekend in terms of upgrades: “It’s fine tuning what we had in Austria and just getting the most out of it. I think the really positive thing is how the car feels.” His smooth driving style has stood him in good stead, having outperformed teammate Jenson Button in both qualifying and the race in Austria.
