Toro Rosso handed suspended fine for tyre error
– Toro Rosso has been handed a suspended 10,000 fine for running a set of tyres outside of the permitted window during the opening practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix.In order to produce more track action in the the first session, the current regulations permit drivers to use an extra set of prime tyres which can only be used during the opening 30 minutes of running.Jean-Éric Vergne was deemed to have returned to the pits a few seconds after the half hour window elapsed during the first practice session at the Red Bull Ring.'The competitor admitted the infringement and sought to mitigate', read an FIA statement.
