Domenicali stands down as Ferrari team principal

Scuderia Ferrari Stefano Domenicali has left his role as Ferrari team principal. Domenicali took over the position from Jean Todt at the end of 2007 but the Italian has departed following Ferrari's poor start to the 2014 season. Domenicali is tipped be replaced by Marco Mattiacci, the president and CEO of Ferrari North America. Domenicali claimed the constructors' championship in his first season as team principal, but the outfit never claimed the drivers' championship while he was in charge, with Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso losing out at the last round in 2008, 2010 and 2012 respectively. 2014's new regulations presented Ferrari with an opportunity to return to its glory days...
