Pirro to act as driver steward in Australia
– Emanuele Pirro will serve as the FIA's dedicated driver steward at this weekend's Australian Grand Prix. The 51-year-old Italian, carrying out the task for an eighth time, contested 38 Formula 1 events between the 1989 and 1991 campaigns, spending his rookie season with Benetton before a two-year stint at Scuderia Italia. Pirro also tasted success in other fields of motorsport; he notched up five victories at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans and has raced to overall honours in the respective German and Italian Touring Car Championships.
