Charles Leclerc has predicted Ferrari is set to experience a difficult remainder of the season.
The Italian squad has not yet taken to the top step of the podium this year. It entered the season with high hopes following the arrival of Lewis Hamilton and a competitive end to the 2024 campaign.
However, it has been unable to consistently compete at the front of the field, with its best result being second in Monaco, courtesy of Leclerc.
The 27-year-old conceded Ferrari does not have upgrades in the pipeline that would take it within reach of the leading contenders.
“I think it's going to be a difficult [season],” Leclerc told media including RacingNews365.
“If you look at the points, we are very far behind, so we will need to completely dominate from now on.
“I don't think we've got anything coming that makes us think that.”
Ferrari currently sit third in the constructors' championship, 191 points down on leaders McLaren.
Explaining Ferrari's approach for the remainder of the campaign, Leclerc highlighted it will not give up in its pursuit to improve.
“The better thing is to just take it race by race, try to maximise the result, just like we've done,” he said.
“It’s been a disappointing first part of the season, but we keep pushing and we'll see where that leads us.”
