Ferrari has confirmed Charles Leclerc will not travel to the Imola circuit on Thursday at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Thursday traditionally marks media day at every grand prix event where teams and drivers talk to the on-site reporters before the on-track action gets underway on Friday.

Imola hosts round seven of the F1 season and marks a significant occasion for Ferrari, who celebrates the first of two home races this year.

However, it will have just Lewis Hamilton present on Thursday as Leclerc is feeling too unwell.

Ferrari has outlined it expects Leclerc to return to the cockpit for practice on Friday.

“Charles is feeling unwell and will not be coming to the track today,” read a team statement.

“He will rest and focus on recovering and we expect him to be in the car tomorrow.”

Ferrari enter the Imola round sitting fourth in the F1 standings, with its best result being a third place scored by Leclerc in Saudi Arabia.
