Former Verstappen sponsor jailed for money laundering, bribery

The Groningen court ruling marks a dramatic fall for the 52-year-old entrepreneur, who is expected to appeal the decision. Van Eerd’s troubles began in 2022 when Jumbo – which operates almost exclusively in the Netherlands, with a few supermarkets in Belgium – was rocked by allegations of money laundering.
