Russell tops rain-hit FP1 as Perez and Sainz both shunt
George Russell topped a rain-hit opening practice at the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix as Sergio Perez crashed in a nightmare start to his weekend. Opening practice was just minutes old when, on his first lap, Perez dropped a wheel onto the grass and spun into the Turn 5 barriers, causing substantial damage to his upgraded RB19 and giving his mechanics a busy couple of hours to fix the car ahead of FP2.
