Max Verstappen braced for penalties

Several Ferrari-powered cars took on a range of new power unit components at the 2023 Austrian GP.  Additionally, reigning world champion Max Verstappen made use of his second and final control electronics on his home turf.  F1Technical's senior writer Balázs Szabó provided insights into the engine situation from the Red Bull Ring paddock. The current generation of Formula 1 power units comprises seven different elements: the internal combustion engine (ICE), motor generator unit-heat (MGU-H), motor generator unit-kinetic (MGU-K), turbocharger, energy store (ES), control electronics (CE), and exhaust.
