Alpine puts Doohan in for VT1 in Mexico

Jack Doohan will make his debut in official Formula One training this Friday, reports Motorsport.com. The Formula 2 driver may get into the Alpine during the first free practice session in Mexico. Also in Abu Dhabi, the young Australian may get behind the wheel of the Alpine car in a practice session. Article continues under ad Formula 1 teams have been obliged since early 2022 to use a driver without any F1 experience at least twice a season during official free practice. Almost all teams have now given at least one chance to a junior driver, except Alpine. The French factory team is therefore yet to field a rookie twice during the last three race weekends and this Friday they will do so...
