McLaren takes over Mercedes EQ and enters Formula E
McLaren has confirmed on its own channels that after expanding into IndyCar and Extreme E, the team will also start a Formula E team. The British brand does not have to start completely from scratch, as it will take over Mercedes' current Formula E team starting next season. McLaren expands again It had been known for some time that the championship-winning team of Mercedes will no longer be present in Formula E after this season. Driver Stoffel Vandoorne has already secured a contract for 2023 with Dragon Racing, but the future of reigning champion Nyck de Vries was still uncertain.
