Imola Qualifying: Verstappen edges Leclerc amid red flags
Max Verstappen edged Charles Leclerc and took pole position for the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix after a red fag marred session, and will start Saturday's Sprint race first. With the first of the Sprint races of the 2022 Formula 1 season scheduled at Imola, qualifying was always going to be a tricky affair with the new breed of F1 cars, as the teams only had the one hour in FP1 to dial their machines in before things got serious, and the wet weather that hogged the track since Friday morning added another factor into the mix.
