Marko admits Max has release clause in new contract

Red Bull's Helmut Marko confirmed that Max Verstappen does have an exit clause in his lengthy new contract. Off the back of winning his first Drivers' title in 2021, Verstappen put pen to paper on new terms with Red Bull ahead of the 2022 season. But by Formula 1's standards, it was a record agreement with Verstappen committing to Red Bull through to the end of 2028. In the current climate, it did definitely makes sense, with Red Bull providing the machinery to capture the title in 2021, while Verstappen appears to very much be in the running to retain his place at the top of the sport in 2022.
