BREAKING | Verstappen is World Champion, Mercedes protest rejected

Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing were able to enjoy their newly won championship for a mere hour, until Mercedes announced they were appealing. Led by Toto Wolff, the team lodged a double protest. The first protest, regarding whether or not to overtake behind the safety car, was quickly dismissed. Not long after that, the liberating word came: the protest that Mercedes made against the result after that much-discussed last lap was also rejected.
