Mercedes F1 partners Ben Ainslie's America's Cup bid

British master sailor Ben Ainslie joined forces with the Applied Science division of Formula 1's Mercedes F1 team on Monday to launch his latest bid to win the America's Cup. Ainslie will skipper Britain's challenge to holders Emirates Team New Zealand for the world's oldest sporting trophy, with James Allison as technical lead as Chief Technical Officer for both INEOS Britannia and Mercedes-AMG Petronas. In December last year, INEOS bought into the world champion F1 team to become a one-third equal shareholder alongside Daimler and Toto Wolff.
