Pirelli calculates strategy: Rain on Saturday means all options are open
With Saturday's qualifying being held on a wet track, all drivers have a free choice of tyres for the Russian Grand Prix. Pirelli therefore has many different options and the Italian tyre supplier predicts that we will see all three tyres on the grid. According to Pirelli there are three strategies that are about the same speed. The fastest would be to start on the yellow tyre and finish on the hardest tyre, the white. The strategy that should be about as fast is the reverse of the first. The alternative is to start on the softest tyre, come in earlier and finish on the hardest.
