Bottas wins sprint as Verstappen snatches Italian GP pole

Valtteri Bottas executed a perfect strategy to secure victory in Saturday's sprint qualifying race, but it's Red Bull's Max Verstappen who picks up pole for tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix. With Bottas doomed to start the main event from pit lane after incurring penalties for restocking power unit components, Verstappen's second place in the sprint moves him to the front of tomorrow's grid with Daniel Ricciardo second. A terrible start for Lewis Hamilton saw the Mercedes drop to fifth before an early safety car for Pierre Gasly running off at the first corner.
