Williams releases junior driver Dan Ticktum with immediate effect

The Williams Formula One team has officially terminated its partnership with junior driver Dan Ticktum. The 22-year-old racer, who made the switch to Williams from the Red Bull junior programme last year, now finds himself without a team. Dan Ticktum was officially shown the door by Williams last week, the team confirms to Formula1.com. Williams didn't give a reason for the departure, but confirmed that the partnership was terminated with immediate effect, with still half of the season to go.
