Verstappen heads Norris in FP2 with Friday clean sweep
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen dominated Friday Practice by making good on his FP1 performance and setting the fastest time in FP2. The 23-year-old, looking in complete command of his RB16B, was narrowly head of McLaren’s Lando Norris with a laptime of 1:30.847. In a very close and competitive session which saw the top 15 drivers separated by just a second, Norris’s time was just 0.095 seconds off the benchmark. Sir Lewis Hamilton was 0.235 seconds back in 3rd with Ferrari new-boy Carlos Sainz in 4th place, 0.055 seconds back from the seven-time World Champion.
