Hakkinen certain Schumacher will have F1 seat ‘very soon'

Double Formula 1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen believes Mick Schumacher will have a race seat in Formula 1 “very soon”, amid his performances in Formula 2. Hakkinen, World Champion in 1998 and 1999, spent several years of his career battling Schumacher’s father, Michael, with their rivalry regarded as one of the sport’s greatest. Schumacher, 21, won the 2018 Formula 3 title and secured Ferrari backing upon his graduation to Formula 2 last year. He also tested Formula 1 machinery with Ferrari and Alfa Romeo – the team with which he has been linked for the 2021 season.
