Sainz: I risked the lot and went for it
While it was business as usual at the very front with Mercedes cleaning up in qualifying, Carlos Sainz rocked the establishment with a scintillating lap that will see him start the 2020 Italian Grand Prix from third-place on the grid. The McLaren driver has come of age in recent races and his Saturday afternoon at Monza will remain one of the more memorable of his career so far and further enhancing his growing reputation. Carlos showed his hand early with the 4th best time in Q1, third in Q2 and then dug deep for his second run in Q3, popped a 1:19.695 to head up row two for the race.
