Ferrari drivers take on new engines after Vettel failure

Ferrari’s drivers have taken on fresh engine components after Sebastian Vettel’s failure during the closing stages of Friday’s second practice session at Silverstone. Vettel suffered a sudden failure with five minutes remaining of the 90-minute session and parked his car at Copse corner, as a vast quantity of fluid leaked from the Ferrari SF1000. The failed engine has been sent back to Ferrari’s base at Maranello for further investigation. Ferrari has consequently fitted a new Internal Combustion Engine, Turbocharger and MGU-H, the second of the season, for both Vettel and team-mate Charles Leclerc.
