Ricciardo bruised but given all-clear after crash

Daniel Ricciardo was given the all-clear by Formula 1’s medical crew after a hefty shunt during the opening stages of second practice for the Styrian Grand Prix. Ricciardo lost control of the R.S.20 as he rounded Turn 9 on his second push lap in the afternoon session, suffering a sizeable impact with the barriers. Ricciardo was pictured limping after extracting himself from the wreckage and was taken for a check-up, where doctors gave him the green light to return to the garage. “I’m okay, I hit my knee on the steering column when it came in so I’m just a bit bruised, but they checked, it’s just some bruising, all’s good, I’m fine,” he said.
