FIA issues new technical directives based on Ferrari settlement
The FIA has issued two new technical directives to Formula 1 teams in order to tighten the regulations surrounding oil consumption and ERS management. The directives come following the settlement signed between Ferrari and the FIA at the end of the 2019 season, which ensured that the Maranello outfit would aid the governing body with policing regulations going forward. According to Motorsport, the oil consumption directive pertain to how the FIA measures the new limit, which was recently set at 0.3 litres per 100km of running, while an updated sensor will be fitted to monitor the distribution of ERS power.
