Ricciardo: Hiatus might give 'more longevity' to career

Daniel Ricciardo believes the physical benefits linked to Formula 1's current hiatus could help him prolong his motorsport career. The Renault driver remained at home in Australia after the cancellation of his country's Grand Prix in early March, enjoying the lengthened down time but nevertheless training hard with his coach, Michael Italiano. "We’ve been able to really knuckle down and set up a real training programme that we never really get," Ricciardo told BBC 5 Live. "You get it at the start of the year, but once you get back to Europe and the travelling starts, it’s so hard to get any routine and consistency.
