Racing legend Sir Stirling Moss dies aged 90
The world of motorsport is in mourning following the death of one of its greatest icons, Sir Stirling Moss, at the age of 90. His wife Lady Moss confirmed that she was at his bedside as he died – she had been nursing him through a long-term illness at their Mayfair House. A chest infection which he caught in Singapore just before Christmas in 2016 was the cause of his passing. Moss is widely regarded as the greatest all-round racing driver – he won 16 races in Formula 1, and although he never won the World Championship, across his full racing career he won 212 of the 529 races he entered from 1948 to 1962.
