Russell completes 18-inch F1 tyre test for Mercedes
George Russell has completed a test run for Mercedes on 18-inch Pirelli tyres that will be introduced for the 2021 Formula 1 season. It marked the first time the six-time double world championship winning German squad had tested the new 18-inch development compounds ahead of the switch from the current 13-inch tyres in 2021. Williams driver Russell, who has been part of the Mercedes young driver programme since 2017, drove 100 laps around the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi in the team's W10 during a private test on Sunday. Russell also drove for Mercedes on Wednesday during the two-day post Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tyre test, with the F1 rookie topping the timesheets on the final day...
