Raikkonen at a loss to explain 'confusing' Alfa Romeo pace

Kimi Raikkonen is at a loss to explain the "very confusing" fluctuation in performance of his Alfa Romeo in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix. Raikkonen launched his race from P13 on the grid but never succeeded in making any progress during the 53-lap race which he finished a lowly 14th, unable to score points for the Swiss outfit for a fifth consecutive time. The Iceman was especially mystified by his car's lack of grip in the first part of the race which suddenly improved after his second pit stop and a switch from the hard to the soft tyre.
