Vettel back to karting roots after Russia disappointment
< ► > On Monday, a day after his disappointing Russian Grand Prix, four-time Formula 1 World Champion went back to his roots for a day of karting at South Garda Karting in Lonato. Vettel, who began his career in karting, was trying out a the six-gear KZ shifter kart for the first time on a day spent testing with top factory team Tony Kart. The German was accompanied by Italian karting ace Marco Ardigò, while Joseph Turney (official Tony Kart Racing Team driver) was on hand to pace the Ferrari driver who spent learning trajectories, refining the set-up and adapting his driving to both the OK single-speed kart and the KZ.
