Liberty wants new high-profile American F1 team

Liberty Media want to increase the popularity of F1 in the United States and feel a new high-profile team from the country will help. Speaking at a conference call on Thursday, Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey confirmed that they have been “talking to new team entrants”, with the hope that a revamped series in 2021 with lower costs will appeal to potential new teams. “We have Haas as a US team, we’d love to add to that with a high-profile US team,” he said as quoted by RaceFans.net. “Down the road you’d love to have a US driver, that probably takes longer.” However, adding a second race in the United States is the priority for Carey in the short term. “Probably the first step...
