Red Bull Ring names corner after Niki Lauda

Officials at Austrian Grand Prix host venue Red Bull Ring have re-named the first corner in honour of the late Niki Lauda. The Red Bull Ring has hosted Formula 1 since the energy drinks giant brought Formula 1 back to the renovated venue in 2014. It previously hosted grands prix under the Osterreichring guise and A1-Ring moniker. Lauda won at the Osterreichring during his third and final title-winning campaign in 1984. Lauda went on to hold a management role at Mercedes, which has taken four wins at the Red Bull Ring, but passed away in May aged 70, following a short illness. “Becoming a permanent part of the Red Bull Ring Turn 1 will now always be known as the Niki Lauda...
