Williams to be compensated for Baku drain cover damage

It's been confirmed that Williams F1 will receive financial compensation for the damage done to their car during last week's Azerbaijan Grand Prix race weekend. A drain cover came loose early in the first free practice session on Friday in Baku, and was sucked open by the aerodynamic power of Formula 1 cars as they ran over it. The unfortunate driver to be in the wrong place at the wrong time was George Russell. His car was so badly damaged by the drain cover coming open that the chassis had to be effectively written off.
