Piquet quits Formula E to focus on Brazilian Stockcars

Formula E’s first champion Nelson Piquet Jr has left the all-electric racing series to focus on Brazilian stock cars and will be replaced by British driver Alex Lynn, the Jaguar team announced on Thursday. They said Piquet, whose father and namesake was a triple Formula 1 world champion, had departed by mutual agreement and with immediate effect after a run of poor form. “Recent results have not met his or the team’s expectations,” said team boss James Barclay in a statement.
