Alonso set to test for McLaren in ambassadorial role

Fernando Alonso has become a McLaren Racing ambassador. Amongst his new responsibilities, the two-time world champion will take part in 'select tests' in the development of this season's car. It had been rumoured for some time that Alonso would test the 2019 car and he had even brought his crash helmet with him to the second week of testing in Barcelona. But now it has been confirmed that he will indeed get to test the 2019 car and aid its development all season as well as next year's MCL35.
