Lewis Hamilton takes Abu Dhabi pole in Mercedes 1-2

Lewis Hamilton will start the final race of the 2018 Formula 1 season from pole position as the Mercedes driver was out of reach for his rivals around Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit. The Briton smashed the previous lap record with a pole time of 1:34.794 on his final flying lap of the session. His closest rival was Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas who starts second, 0.162s adrift as he was once again overshadowed by the five-time World Champion. It was a closely fought session with it looking like pole could have gone to any of the top six, that was until Q3 when Hamilton stretched the margin beyond Mercedes' rivals, with Sebastian Vettel ending up third more...
