Rob Smedley to leave Williams at end of season

Williams Martini Racing Head of Performance Engineering Rob Smedley will be leaving the team at the end of the 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season after spending five years with the team. Smedley joined Williams at the same time as Felipe Massa when the pair moved from Scuderia Ferrari after eight years. Brought in to help turn the team around from the poor 2013 season, Smedley helped take the team to third place in the championship in 2014 and 2015, and then fifth for 2016 and 2017. 'I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Williams.' said Smedley. 'The team has been through great change since I joined in 2014 and it has been a pleasure to have played a part in that. ...
